Uhhh, yeah

I'm sorry to those of you who sent me emails. I may or may not have time to reply to them today because of my weird schedule.... my companion has been sick since she got here. We just got back from the doctors. She has strep throat. :/

Well, it sure has been stormy over here in Kent. Raining like crazy. Woke up to a hail storm the other day. Quite lovely... today it seems to not be as bad as the past few days though. We'll see.

It has been a pretty great week. We originally had a set appointment with this guy, but we saw him leaving as soon as we got there so we decided to knock on his neighbor's door. Low and behold he was awesome and is now a new investigator of the Gospel! :) It is true that when one door shuts, another door opens. When we are trying to do what God wants us to, He will find ways to bless us even when things don't seem to be going so well at first.

I don't know if any of you remember the story I told about the sweet Chinese lady that welcomed us into her home, but we finally got some Chinese Books of Mormon  so we brought one to her the other day and she was so happy. :) Her son was translating for us, but he was even having a little bit of difficulty doing the job. We are going to get a brother in our ward to translate for us so we can see them later this week. It's going to be such an amazing experience! :)

Sam received the Priesthood on Sunday so he's doing well! :)

Man, these Seahawks games sure put a damper on the work. We were walking around and as soon as the Seahawks won it felt like bombs were going off. People were lighting fireworks and little kids were doing victory runs all around the neighborhoods. We saw groups of kids in the middle of the streets dancing around. They really don't mess around when it comes to football. No sir.

Pat is still awesome. He's preparing for baptism on the 9th of February. :) It's incredible to see someone so eager and excited to learn. He's a former alcoholic, but has been sober for about 7 years and through that he found his relationship with God. He also found his sweet wife Selena who is incredible. :) I'm so privileged to be able to teach him!

Sister Goble has been saying that the past few days, every time she talks to someone they have been a little mean. I can't remember if literally every time they have been, but I suppose the majority of them were... like the time she walked up to the lady at her door who seemed to be fine, but as soon as Sister Goble mentioned that we were representatives of Christ the lady shouted "GET OFF MY PROPERTY!!!" Priceless.

I thought I would be done with the weird things of Washington, but behold I am not!

Weird thing about Washington:

People saran wrap their windows and balconies and stuff. Like cellophane. Not sure what it's about. But I've just noticed quite a few lately...

Today was quite the adventure. I had to go on splits because we taught Pat today, but Sister Goble was sick so she had to stay at the apartment. Then we reunited and headed to the doctors. That's where she found out she had strep throat... which she already assumed she did.... my fingers are crossed that I don't get it too... I already have a tiny sore throat. Ah!

The world is crazy. Things are definitely bad sometimes, but it gets a little better knowing that you can communicate with your Heavenly Father through prayer.
 Here's a new one:

Love,
Sister Pearson. :)
