Reunion With My Other Roomie.

So I got to meet up with my roommate Jenna and go to the Redlands temple with her. It was funny to see how fascinated she was by it's smallness and its chillness. I'm so grateful I got to see her! Oh, and she and her mom allowed me to have quite the first-time experience at Famous Dave's. To say the least, I was ribbin' the life. Especially after our waiter Famous Ryan had me drink his version of "toilet water" which just happened to be water with ridiculously hot pepper seasoning in it that makes your lips burn for an hour just from one sip. Yup, ribbin' the life.

She also completely took me by surprise by attending my farewell at church and, although I didn't really get to express it to her, it was honestly so thoughtful that she took the time to do that. I'm so grateful she got to come. :)

Reunion With the Roomie.

This past week I was able to reunite with my roomie Kristen and I had SO much fun! We were able to attend a session at the San Diego Temple which I had never even seen before. It is breathtaking to say the least and it was amazing. We also were able to have two of our other friends from BYU come and hang out with us for the day. We are all future missionaries. Kristen- North Carolina Raleigh. Alec- Washington Kennewick. Tanner- Ghana Accra. And then me. :) They are all so awesome and will be fantastic missionaries all for different reasons.

My Life Right Now

Tomorrow I hit the one month mark until I leave! I feel so ready and so un-prepared! Haha. Contradictory, but completely honest.

Where I'm at Right Now...

1. Had the opportunity to attend a wedding in the Redlands Temple; my first Temple wedding! It was truly beautiful and I know I don't want to be married anywhere else besides within the walls of one of the House's of the Lord. The idea of marriage is freaky to me still honestly, for different reasons, but I know when the time comes I won't settle for "til death do you part." I want a "for time and all eternity" marriage.

2. Ordered glasses and an iPod. Currently trying to find as much uplifting/spiritual music as I can. I haven't heard from my mission president so I have no clue what the stipulations will be as to what we can listen to.

3. I haven't had that much to do, but all the sudden I feel like I have a TON to do.

  • farewell talk on missionary work (go figure)
  • practice my song
  • get my license renewed
  • get my driving record
  • finish my online mission prep
  • get ahold of some family history (this is hard for me)
  • try to get my mind around the fact that I will need to pack
  • decorate the Maple Ward box
  • teach a couple girls in my ward some basics on the Uke
  • get stuff ready/figure out what I need to do for my subbing as Chorister in Primary for the next few weeks
  • STILL TRY TO HAVE FUN
4. There's more, but I can't think.

5. Honestly, I just love the Lord and know He has a purpose for me.

Love, Jesus

It is sometimes difficult to comprehend the reality of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ because they seem so far away and out of reach. It can be hard to imagine them physically before us as magnificent and Almighty men. We sometimes wish for signs and evidence; however, if we just open our eyes a little wider we can be overwhelmed by the evidence that there is a God who loves us dearly and Jesus Christ truly lives to bless, love, and forgive us eternally.

Alma 30:44

44 But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of aall these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the bearth, and call things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its dmotion, yea, and also all theeplanets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.

A Fellow Future Missionary on the missionary Facebook page posted this and I loved it:
Sister,

How are you? I just had to send you this letter to tell you how much I love you and care about you. I saw you yesterday as you were walking with your friends. I waited all day, hoping you should walk and talk with me also. As evening drew near, I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you. Then, I waited, but you never came. Oh yes, it hurt me, but I still love you because I am your friend.

I saw you fall asleep last night and I longed to touch your brow, so I spilt moonlight upon your pillow and your face. Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk. I have so many gifts for you.

You awakened late this morning and rushed off for the day. My tears were in the rain. Today you looked so sad, so alone. It makes my heart ache because I understand. My friends let me down and hurt me many times, but I love you. I try to tell you in the quiet green grass. I whisper it in the leaves and trees and breathe it in the color of the flowers. I shout it to you in the mountain stream and give the birds love songs to sing. I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air. My love for you is deeper than the oceans and bigger than the biggest want or need you could ever have.

We will spend eternity together in heaven. I know how hard it is on earth. I really know, because I was there and I want to help you. My Father wants to help you too. He's that way you know. Just call me, ask me and talk to me. It is your decision...I have chosen you and because of this I will wait...because I love you.

Your friend,
                Jesus
